Book Release Party- This Weekend!

Have you ever been to a book release party? I've only been to one, and I'm so excited to be having a book release party this weekend for a book that I wrote! When I was telling my nephews and nieces about it last weekend, one of them said:

"It's like a baby shower for a book, right?"

"Something like that," I replied.

Nobody brings gifts, however we will enjoy cookies, hot drinks, and a fun time together as we celebrate the release of Seasons: A Picture Book.

Karen Schnieder, the illustrator, painted pictures that make these words jump off of the page, better yet, she painted pictures that make me want to jump into the page!

One day soon I hope to write about the process of this book being birthed from my heart over the past couple of years. It's a book about the four seasons through a child's eyes, but it's also a book that reminds readers that God is good toward us, even in the dreary seasons. I've walked through some hard stuff in the past several years, and I have been reminded of God's goodness in a barren season. I'm honored to share that message with all who read Seasons.

This time two years ago, I was preparing to release my first book Embracing Hope During Infertility. Writing books is hard work, and publishing the equivalent of my personal diary took an emotional toll on me. I was worn out and had no energy to put into a release party. This year, as Karen and I prepared to publish Seasons, we prepared to celebrate with a launch party.

Hi, I’m Betsy, and I live in the Washington, D.C. area with my husband, Mike. We have been married since 2008. We enjoy exploring new cities together on foot, eating at our favorite Italian restaurants, and doing life as a team.
