Dear God,
Today I pray for each mama who has a baby or babies in Heaven. We remember these short lives, and we feel their absence in our own lives. No matter how long we carried these babies in our wombs, we remember them today, and every day.
Psalm 139 reminds us that You have knitted each person in their mama’s womb. You are the Creator of each new life. From the beginning You knew how many days each on one of us would live, and You personally knew each one of us before our lives began. No matter where we go, You hold us near. Even if we settle on the far side of the sea, You hold us securely in Your hand.
You are the One who gives us peace and comfort in our grief. You lead us beside still waters, and You restore our souls. We are grateful that You knows our sorrows, we take comfort in the fact that Jesus wept when a loved one died.
You are Immanuel, God with us. You hold us close, and You hold us together. You comfort us and hold our tears. You provide the Hope of eternity.
We miss our babies today, God, and we think of them often. We turn to you for comfort and hope. Help each one of us to trust You with our past, our present, and our future.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen.
