Birthing Books & Running After Dreams

As I've focused my energy into completing my soon-to-be-published book, I've been writing my posts over at ChixPartyOfFive.com. Here are some snippets of those posts if you're interested!

Birthing a Book Baby

Other than a quick little getaway to Chicago with my husband last weekend, my free time in the last few weeks has been consumed with finishing my book manuscript. Writing a book has been a fun creative outlet, however it’s also required a lot of time and dedication to get to the end. I’m not quite finished, but I hope to call it done within a week! Then I plan to receive some final edits before sharing it with the world around Christmas!

Yesterday I went outside for my first run in a while, trying to let off some I’ve-been-submerged-in-writing-and-editing stress. As I ran along the sidewalk praying about this book I asked myself why on earth I am tackling such a personal topic for my first book! Though we hate the word infertility, it’s my topic. Ultimately I’m writing about it because it is my story, because sharing my story will hopefully encourage others, and because God has put the idea on my heart so strongly that I can’t resist!

Never Too Late!
A month ago I ran my first half marathon, and I set out with a goal of finishing within a certain time. Nearly half way through the race, I found myself running at a similar pace to a woman who looked like she was older than most of the runners out there. I would have guessed that she was in her 60s, so I assumed she was an experienced runner.
