Favorite Books I've Read (So Far) in 2015

It’s been a while since I’ve shared about what I’ve been reading, so today’s the day! (Actually, it’s been a while since I’ve blogged, so here’s a recap of my life recently.) Today I’m sharing about the non-fiction books I’ve been into, please check back in a few days to see what fiction books have caught my eye.

General Non-Fiction:
Happier at Home by Gretchen Rubin: I have been listening to this audiobook during the past few days, and I can relate to the author in several ways. I’m a type-A woman, driven to get things done, I have a career (other than being a wife/mom which I know are full time work!), and I’m not naturally happy and optimistic in my outlook on life. The bottom line theme of this book, in my opinion, is that choosing kindness, showing love to those you love, and taking care of yourself are vital to happiness. (Happiness, of course, is different than the joy we find in Christ. However, happiness is a good thing to have around!) My favorite quote from the book is this: “One of the best ways to make myself happy is to make other people happy; one of the best ways to make other people happy is to be happy myself.”

Trusting God: Even When Life Hurts by Jerry Bridges: Although this isn’t the most riveting book I’ve ever read, the principles within it are true: God is good and He is in command of the world and our individual lives, regardless of the circumstances we see. (This is the first book our new book club is reading together!)
