Books I've Been Into (Spring 2019)

I love books. I think I've started a blog post with that line before, but I want to tell you what I've been into these days. Well, I'm reading a lot of toddler books with my little girl, teaching her to love books, and one day soon I'll share a post of our favorite books for babies. But I've squeezed in some reading - and listening to audiobooks - so I thought I'd share a few recent favorites with you.

Fiction: 

I recently finished reading Refuge at Pine Lake by Rose Chandler Johnson - it was well written and so enjoyable - just the easy read I needed this season. Grab it for your summer reading! Rose is an indie author, and I have a deep appreciation for well-done indie releases.

Another recent indie book I loved was Emma and the Reasons by Natasha Metzler - it had some unexpected twists (her personal life has had some recent unexpected twists as well!) Go support some indie authors and download these Kindle books!



Non-fiction: 

I listened to the audiobook Suffering is Never for Nothing by Elisabeth Elliott. This book was actually a transcription of a talk she gave, and it was published after her death. For those in a barren place, go read or listen to this book, and be reminded that in the kingdom of God, your suffering isn't wasted. 

I just listened to Emily P. Freeman's The Next Right Thing: A Simple, Soulful Practice for Making Life Decisions and it was full of decision-making nuggets of wisdom that spoke to me and helped me process all the major changes my husband and I have experienced in the past year.

I also enjoyed reading Have More Fun: How to be Remarkable, Stop Feeling Stuck, and Start Enjoying Life by Mandy Arioto while on a long plane ride... and was reminded to have more fun as I got dressed up for Mom Prom this spring.
