Hello from Hawaii!

Some of my thoughts in the past 6 months went like this:

Back in July, I said to my husband, "Let's move closer to family! Maryland is so far from North Carolina!" and then when he mentioned a job posting that had caught his eye I agreed, "Sure, you can inquire about it."

August: "A job interview!" quickly followed by "A job offer!?" then followed by "But it's so far away! It's so expensive to live there!" and then the conclusion "Why not? We asked God for an opportunity and this looks like a wide open door."

September: "Are we sure we're ready for this?" followed by "Okay, let's do it! An exciting adventure awaits!" and the realization that "Now I'll have to actually shave my legs in the winter!"

October, November, and December involved such hard work (and stress), along with travel and planning that I neglected writing blog posts, emails, or working on my upcoming book. But much of that hard work is behind us because we have moved out of our home in the Washington D.C. area.

Yes, there are big changes in our family! My husband's job has taken us to HAWAII!

We arrived in the Honolulu area in January. And we are excited!

This opportunity certainly wasn't in our plans. Visiting Hawaii was never on our bucket list, much less a place where we hoped to live. But it's happening - we said yes, and we've moved!

Will we live in Hawaii forever? Only God knows. I'd like to live on the East Coast again one day. We might follow opportunities to live in other places, and we're up for adventures. Out toddler will love the time in the great outdoors in the next few years. We are asking God for another baby - a Hawaii baby, because we're getting old(er)!
